Prime Minister Julia Gillard launched Australia’s first National Security Strategy

On 23 January 2013, the Prime Minister julia Gillard launched the National Security Strategy at the National Security College. The National Security Strategy is available on the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet's website.

A video recording of the launch is available on the ANUchannel on Youtube. A transcript of the Prime Minister's speech is also available from the Prime Minister's Press Office.

The Prime Minister also opened the G J Yeend Wing of the J G Crawford Building. Sir Geoffrey Yeend was a distinguished Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and then both Pro Chancellor and Chancellor of the ANU. The naming of the Wing is a fitting tribute to a career in public service, and a very appropriate reflection of our focus on excellence in public policy education and research.
