Roundtable with James Clapper, United States Director of National Intelligence
On Thursday 17 March, the National Security College hosted the United States’ Director of National Intelligence, Mr James Clapper AO, for an exclusive roundtable discussion on intelligence and strategic issues.
Mr Clapper was welcomed to the Australian National University by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Brian Schmidt AC, FRS, FAA.
The wide-ranging discussion was chaired by the Head of College, Professor Rory Medcalf, and involved senior Australian national security practitioners past and present as well as some of the College’s key partners from academia and industry.
The exchange of insights focused on future intelligence challenges, past successes and the global strategic outlook for the United States and Australia.
The College is pleased to have convened this unique high-level dialogue between national security practitioners and non-government experts, consistent with the mandate of the College and the University to engage closely with practical policy issues.
