Singapore eyes the future
The College recently hosted Mr Peter Ho, Senior Advisor to Singapore’s Centre for Strategic Futures in the Prime Minister’s Office, for a discussion on strategic futures and the national security outlook for Singapore and Australia.
The roundtable builds on on the College’s recent futures work, including high level discussions with Mr James Clapper AO, United States Director of National Intelligence, and Dr Gregory Treverton, Chairman of the United States’ National Intelligence Council.
The thought-provoking discussion with Mr Ho was chaired by the Head of College, Professor Rory Medcalf, and involved senior Australian national security practitioners past and present as well as senior academics from the College.
The robust and dynamic exchange canvassed a wide range of issues and trends – with particular focus on futures analysis – strategic shocks and national security scenario planning.
The College is pleased to be playing an ongoing role supporting in-depth analysis of critical national security issues with practitioners and non-government experts, and boosting Australia’s linkages with key international partners through high-level dialogues on practical policy issues.
