This program will provide participants with the opportunity to develop an understanding of the connection between gender, security and peace.

This program will provide participants with the opportunity to develop an understanding of the connection between gender, security and peace, by exploring the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR1325) and the Australian National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (2021-2031).The program explores the intersection of security, gender, and peacebuilding in a strategically contested region and the roles that participants (and their agencies) play. Participants will consider the significance of gender in peace processes, the role of gender perspectives in national security, and gender equality as a fundamental human right, essential for achieving lasting peace and stability in our region.
