Examining the EU's engagement in the Indo-Pacific

Supported by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Australia, the ANU National Security College (NSC) presented the second EU Indo-Pacific Forum on 15 March 2024, which explored opportunities and challenges for the European Union’s involvement in the Indo-Pacific.

The highlight was an address from Richard Tibbels, EU Special Envoy for the Indo-Pacific as well as an introductory address by Rod Brazier, Deputy Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, which provided an Australian perspective on the EU’s engagement in the region.

Richard Tibbels subsequently joined Professor Rory Medcalf AM in conversation.

Two panel discussions that followed, covered vital topics including; geoeconomics, environmental challenges, security, and digital connectivity in the region.
