David joined the Policy Outreach and Engagement team at NSC in July 2025, on secondment from the Department of Defence. David brings extensive experience from a career in national security. He has worked across policy development, strategic assessment and international relations in the Department of Defence, Office of Transport Security and Office of National Assessments.

David holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies, a Master of Defence Management, a Graduate Diploma in Maritime Studies and Bachelors of Arts and Law. He is also a graduate of the Australian War College and the Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies.

David’s professional focus is on preparedness, national security strategy and the evolving dynamics of the Indo-Pacific region.
