Jane joined the ANU National Security College in September 2024, on secondment from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C), where she was responsible for managing all National Security Submissions considered by Government. At PM&C, Jane supported the Prime Minister and Cabinet Secretary to ensure the appropriate and timely consideration of policy proposals, and collective adherence to the principles of cabinet conventions.

Jane has a long public service career in roles with the New South Wales Police, Customs and Border Protection Service and Department of Defence, including within the Australian Civil Military Centre. She has also been appointed to specialist roles including as the first Civil-Military-Police Advisor deployed on Operation Bushfire Assist, and lead support to the Naval Shipbuilding Expert Advisory Panel, appointed by Prime Minister Morrison to provide independent expert advice to the Australian government on its National Naval Shipbuilding Enterprise.
