Sharryn joined NSC as a Senior Policy Advisor in 2025, on secondment from the Department of Defence. Prior to that, she held multiple roles in the Defence portfolio, principally in intelligence practice, intelligence capability, and strategic assessment.

Sharryn holds Master of National Security and Strategy (Leading International Policy), a Master of Military and Defence Studies, a Masters of Intelligence Analysis, and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Intelligence. She is a graduate of the Defence Department’s Australian War College, the Australian Command and Staff College, and the ANU Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies.

Sharryn’s current research interests include the application of statecraft in strategy, intelligence tradecraft in practice, leadership in geo-strategic competition, and the intersection of science, emerging technologies, and national security.
