Representing Australia in regional security dialogue

The Head of NSC, Professor Rory Medcalf AM, joined NSC Expert Affiliates Professor Bec Strating and Dr Huong Le Thu recently to represent Australia in a regional security dialogue in Kuala Lumpur. The trio were delegates to a meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum register of experts and eminent persons, aimed at supporting confidence-building and preventive diplomacy in Southeast Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific. Their participation was supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Professor Medcalf also used the visit for engagement with the Malaysian National Resilience College and media organisations.
